People are affected by autism from the time they are small children. There are normally three areas of growth in which these children have difficulties. Often the symptoms will be different when it comes to different people. However, there are three developmental areas that are influenced. The three are behavior, language, and social skills.
Due to the difference in people, it is possible for two children to have been diagnosed the same and still react very differently and have totally distinct abilities and skills. Children who have severe afflictions of autism are often unable to speak or be social.
Infants are the first to display the signs of autism. The studies have concluded there are children who seemed to be quite normal for the first year or so of their life and then start displaying signs of autism. When this happens, there may be a common cause for the disruption in the development of children but so far nothing has been proven.
Every child has a developmental stage they go through but some of these can be signs of autism. The signs may be categorized by behavior, language, and social skills. The autism symptoms they display may be not answering when their name is called, may not look you in the eye, does not want to be hugged, does not seem to hear sometimes, is not aware of the feelings of others, and seems to prefer being by themselves.
