Some activities can actually promote the formation of varicose veins however; these include high-impact aerobics and jogging. Overdoing it while cycling can also be a contributing factor, so take it a little easy on the bike. Standing in place for a long time also is a no-no if you are trying to avoid varicose veins. Basically, any activity which tends to increase blood pressure in the veins of the legs should be avoided.

Besides walking, swimming is also a good choice of exercise for varicose veins. Circulation throughout the entire body, not just the legs can be achieved through regular swims. Also, water aerobics should be considered if swimming laps just isn’t your thing.
